Welcoming our newest board members—Herb Gillette and Husam Al-Qoulaq
Healing Across the Divides is happy to extend a warm welcome to the newest members of our Board of Directors: Herb Gillette and Husam Al-Qoulaq.
The two bring with them extensive professional expertise as well as personal passion for HATD’s mission of Peacebuilding Through Health for Israelis and Palestinians.
Herb Gillette spent most of his career working with small consulting firms, overseeing major government contracts with various US agencies including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency, the National Security Agency and the FAA. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Connecticut. He and his wife, Cheryl, live in Columbia, MD. They have three children and three grandchildren.
Husam Al-Qoulaq is founding partner at a law firm in Los Angeles representing artists and other entrepreneurs in the entertainment and media industries. Born and raised in San Diego, Al-Qoulaq—a Palestinian-American—received his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and graduated from Harvard Law School in 2016.
“We are thrilled to have such wonderful, diverse professionals join our board of directors” said HATD Director, Norbert Goldfield, MD. “This is especially important at a time of such uncertainty for the marginalized communities we serve who have been devastated by COVID-19. Having committed partners is the key to improving Israeli and Palestinian lives.”
